In April 2026, San Francisco Taiko Dojo secured a new home through a collaboration with TaikoVentures LLC.

After four years of temporarily practicing at Aikido by the Bay in San Mateo, we finally brought all of our drums, equipment, and activities back together under one roof. Following several months of renovations and preparation, we opened our doors and began classes in June 2026, marking an important new chapter for our organization.

For over 55 years, San Francisco Taiko Dojo has been a cornerstone of the Bay Area cultural arts community and one of the organizations that helped give birth to the modern taiko movement in North America. Through performances, education, and community engagement, the dojo has inspired generations of students and audiences while preserving and sharing the powerful art of taiko.

Last year, your generosity helped make this new home possible. Because of your support, we were able to secure a permanent space, complete the necessary improvements, and begin building a foundation for the future of the dojo.

Today, we are asking for your continued support.

While the excitement of opening our doors is behind us, the ongoing work of sustaining a vibrant cultural arts organization continues every day. Your donation helps support rent, utilities, facility maintenance, equipment upkeep, and the programs that allow us to teach, perform, and share taiko with our community.
